St. Andrews was early on a curiosity to us. Early in our marriage, circa 1986, we would go on extended walks throughout the metropolitan area from our Hollywood residence. We quite often toured the Mt. Tabor vicinity. The first time we came upon St. Andrews, we commented on the mission style architecture, of which we were both familiar having lived for extended periods in Arizona and New Mexico. We questioned, "Could we take a look inside." But we never did. As fate would have it, twenty-three years later, we have not only gained access to St. Andrews, we live here. Commenting one to the other, "In our wildest imaginations would we have predicted that we would celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary in a converted 18th-century monastery?" An extreme stretch. However, without St. Andrews, our health issues would present unmanageable problems in day-to-day living. St. Andrews is a blessing. Thank you all for your humanity and compassion.

My husband has been a resident at St. Andrews since 2000. In February 2009, he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. The nurses in the ER could not believe that he was from a "care center." When questioned, they said, "Firstly, he does not smell like a care center person, and secondly his skin is so beautiful." I cannot say enough to praise and thank the caregivers who have lovingly taken care of him over the past nine years.
